We’re sorry to say we couldn’t accept your proposal for funding.
Please don’t take it personally. The quality of the applications
continues to increase with each cycle, and since there’s a limit
on the number of interviews we can do, we had to turn away a lot
of genuinely promising groups.

Another reason you shouldn’t take this personally is that we know
we make lots of mistakes. It’s alarming how often the last group
to make it over the threshold for interviews ends up being one that
we fund. That means there are surely other good groups that fall
just below the threshold and that we miss even interviewing.

We’re trying to get better at this, but it’s practically certain
that groups we rejected will go on to create successful startups.
If you do, we’d appreciate it if you’d send us an email telling us
about it; we want to learn from our mistakes.

Zapatero anuncia una conmemoración del ´centenario Miguel Hernández´

El presidente del Gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, anunció que en 2010 se hará “una gran conmemoración nacional” del Centenario del nacimiento del universal poeta oriolano Miguel Hernández.

Rodríguez Zapatero visitó Orihuela, donde fue recibido por cientos de personas, que lo acompañaron en un corto recorrido que realizó por la ciudad desde el Arco de Santo Domingo hasta la Casa-Museo Miguel Hernández, donde anunció que en 2010 se hará “una gran conmemoración nacional” del Centenario del nacimiento del universal poeta.

Durante su visita, Rodríguez Zapatero estuvo acompañado por el candidato del PSPV-PSOE a la Generalitat Valenciana, Joan Ignasi Pla, y por Antonia Moreno, candidata del mismo partido a la alcaldía de Orihuela, entre otros dirigentes socialistas.

En su recorrido, el también secretario general del PSOE explicó su presencia en Orihuela por “un compromiso que tenía” con sus compañeros oriolanos, que le “han pedido en muchas ocasiones, en muchos mítines y por todas España” que los visitara.

“Aquí estoy, y en qué otro sitio mejor podía estar que en la Casa de Miguel Hernández, poeta del viento, poeta del pueblo, poeta universal. Dentro de poco vamos a conmemorar el Centenario de su nacimiento y vamos a hacer una gran conmemoración nacional de esa efeméride”, según anunció.
